Hospital services in Rawene include acute inpatient care, urgent care services, Post–operative recovery care, residential care, respite and palliative care.
Rawene Hospital is staffed by a rural hospital doctor, alongside registered nurses, enrolled nurses and health care assistants. The Hospital services team, supports the clinical staff.
The hospital has 10 acute medical beds and 1 respite bed which can be booked through the NASC service.

Palliative care is provided in the hospital, and can be supported by Hospice. Whanau are able to access Pou Kara Ariki marae, to provide sleeping accommodation and cooking facilities.
Diversional Therapy is provided to the residents and respite patients and longer-term acute patients.
Te Taumata o Hauora Hokianga Te Taumata are senior hospital cultural practitioners who are responsible for promoting, expressing, teaching, sharing and leading cultural responses, experiences, and activities within the hospital’s services and community life. This includes the shared delivery of the Takapau Taonga programme.
Turoro /patients and whanau /family can have access to spiritual, emotional and cultural care of their choice while they are being looked after in hospital.
Patients and residents can also access Taumata Rongoa services.
Monthly church services are held at the hospital for inpatients and residents.
