About the Role
As a Health Care Assistant, you’ll be an essential part of our care team, supporting Registered and Enrolled Nurses to deliver holistic, patient‑centred care, across a 24/7 rotating roster. Your work helps uphold the comfort, dignity, and wellbeing of those in our hospital and residential care services.
You will be responsible for assisting with personal cares including bathing and toileting, supporting mobility, preparing beds, helping with meal services, and offering a warm, reassuring presence to patients, residents, and their whānau.
What You’ll Bring
We’re looking for someone who is naturally compassionate, calm under pressure, and committed to supporting others. You’ll also ideally have:
- A Level 3 NZ Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (or be working toward it), or an equivalent qualification
- At least one years’ experience in a hospital or residential care setting
- The ability to work rostered shifts including weekends and nights, if required
- Strong communication, listening, and observational skills
- Confidence with hands‑on tasks and the physical demands of the role
- The ability to follow care plans and procedures, and complete thorough documentation
- Good computer skills, particularly in the use of MS Office suite of software
- A full, clean driver’s licence

REGISTERED NURSES
FIXED TERM (PARENTAL LEAVE COVER) | 2 POSITIONS AVAILABLE
We are seeking two skilled and dedicated Registered Nurses to join our team on a fixed-term basis to provide parental leave cover. Our Hospital Nursing team delivers care across a broad spectrum of services, including the Acute Ward, Urgent Care, and Aged Residential Care, within a 24/7 rotating roster that includes on‑call responsibilities.
In this role, you will provide safe, effective, and high‑quality nursing care to our patients, residents, clients, and whānau, ensuring their needs are met with professionalism, compassion, and clinical excellence.

- A current Annual Practising Certificate (APC)
- At least two years post-graduate general clinical experience in New Zealand, ideally within a Māori healthcare setting

Rural Registrar Placement: broaden your skillset through exposure to a wide variety of presentations working within a close-knit, supportive team. Rural Hospital – level 2 and Rural General Practice runs can be carried out in tandem over a 12-month placement.
Applicants must be registered with the Medical Council of New Zealand to practice as a Doctor in New Zealand. Accommodation provided.
NURSING OPPORTUNITIES
Registered Nurse: support a diverse range of patients across accident and emergency, acute inpatient, and hospital level residential care across a 24/7 shift roster.
Community Health Nurse: undertake a wide range of nursing duties in our rural community including district nursing, public health nursing, practice nursing, well child nursing and palliative care.
Nurse Practitioner: demonstrate nursing leadership and provide clinical advice, care, and education. Place whānau at the centre of care, exploring health and wellbeing concerns, preferences, health behaviours, attitudes and priorities using a Kaupapa Māori strengths-based approach.
Ideal candidates will have at least 2 years’ experience, however applications are welcome from new graduates. Previous experience in a rural setting or Māori health provider is desirable. You’ll need a current drivers license and practicing certificate, with the ability to pass a police background check.
