We are looking for an experienced, people‑centred leader to guide our kaupapa Māori‑aligned Mental Health and Community Services.
Reporting directly to the Ahorangi | CEO this role provides strategic, clinical, operational, and people leadership to ensure high‑quality, culturally grounded care for whānau across the Hokianga rohe. You will lead a multidisciplinary, highly engaged team within a service that is already functioning as a mature and well‑developed level. With strong foundations and processes in place, we are looking for a stand‑out leader who can continue to elevate the quality, coordination, and cultural responsiveness of our services.
You will have a relevant tertiary qualification, ideally in health or health leadership, and be an experienced leader who thrives in complex environments and is deeply committed to kaupapa Māori, equity, and community wellbeing. You will excel at building relationships, guiding teams, and shaping services that make a real difference.

FIXED TERM (PARENTAL LEAVE COVER)
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Registered Nurses to join our team on a fixed-term basis to provide parental leave cover. Our Hospital Nursing team delivers care across a broad spectrum of services, including the Acute Ward, Urgent Care, and Aged Residential Care, within a 24/7 rotating roster that includes on‑call responsibilities.
In this role, you will provide safe, effective, and high‑quality nursing care to our patients, residents, clients, and whānau, ensuring their needs are met with professionalism, compassion, and clinical excellence.

GP and Rural Hospital Doctor – Locum or Permanent opportunities providing comprehensive, integrated primary and secondary health services through our community clinics and rural hospital. Rural Registrar Placement: broaden your skillset through exposure to a wide variety of presentations working within a close-knit, supportive team. Rural Hospital – level 2 and Rural General Practice runs can be carried out in tandem over a 12-month placement.
Applicants must be registered with the Medical Council of New Zealand to practice as a Doctor in New Zealand. Accommodation provided.
NURSING OPPORTUNITIES
Registered Nurse: support a diverse range of patients across accident and emergency, acute inpatient, and hospital level residential care across a 24/7 shift roster.
Community Health Nurse: undertake a wide range of nursing duties in our rural community including district nursing, public health nursing, practice nursing, well child nursing and palliative care.
Nurse Practitioner: demonstrate nursing leadership and provide clinical advice, care, and education. Place whānau at the centre of care, exploring health and wellbeing concerns, preferences, health behaviours, attitudes and priorities using a Kaupapa Māori strengths-based approach.
Ideal candidates will have at least 2 years’ experience, however applications are welcome from new graduates. Previous experience in a rural setting or Māori health provider is desirable. You’ll need a current drivers license and practicing certificate, with the ability to pass a police background check.
