Ka whakamahia hei rongoā mo te huka, te manawa, me te maremare o te uma. 

 

Kūmarahou (Pomaderris kumeraho) is used in rongoā to soothe coughs and colds, and to support the lungs and chest.

The leaves are boiled to make a tea that helps clear mucus.

Kūmarahou mixed with Kawakawa is also used to treat eczema.
