Whare Whakaaro Nui, our Residential Care Unit, has 12 dual-purpose beds providing both hospital-level and rest home-level care. Entry to our residential care unit is by, Needs Assessment, and the level of care decision is made by Northland District Health Board.
All rooms are single occupancy, with shared bathroom and toilet facilities.
Residents have access to Taumata Rongoā.
Diversional therapy is provided through Whare Awatea – Day Centre. Residents can attend activities in the centre, or the Diversional Therapist can provide activities in residents’ rooms.
Whare Whakaaro Nui has a nine-seater wheelchair-accessible van to transport residents for outings and excursions, weather permitting.
